Rear brake pads

I just changed my rear brake pads because of annoying squeaking when stopping and rolling at slow speeds, now since I changed them I'm still hearing a low wasping sound when I'm driving, is this because they need to be broken in?? Also I'm still hearing a slight squeak when braking, what could it be? They are monroe ceramic pads............

Probably just the type of pad. I went with OEM pads because I was told they are the highest quality, so I bit the bullet and payed for them. Couldn't be happier. If that's not it I don't know what your problem is. Good luck

I did the same thing. OEMs are great.

Can any one give me helpful advice on this, I've changed pads before so I don't think it was anything I did wrong, it's simple.

Thats what I was thinking, that they needed to be broken in, but I never experienced this before after replacing brakes.

like fttysms said, did you get your rotors turned or get new ones all together? if not it could be your stock rotors warped, which does not enable the pads to seat properly. However, i do not know if the rears would or could warp b/c most of the braking power comes from the fronts. by the way nice avatar, this is the metros year.

did you put anti-squeal compound on the backs of the pads? or did they come with any plastic shims? i have *always* used anti-squeal on my pads. works like a charm. and yes, the wasping sound could be the pads wearing in. how many miles do you have on your car?

Sometime the squeaking noise is created by brake dust. Usually a brake service is all the it takes to quiet the brakes.
