looking for some ideas on where to look next on my 2003 Acura TL- type s for this misfire issue I’m having.
I drove home in a rain storm and accidentally hit a larger than expected puddle and the car started acting up about 10 minutes after. I got home checked inside the intake everything was good there. The top of the transmission was soaked however. I went to the evap canister at the back drivers side wheel and noticed one of the hoses was not attached to the canister (I’m not sure if the pressure of the water knocked it off or it was like that the whole time) It’s got a whole new top end rebuilt about 2 years ago and new injectors. So far I’ve changed all the coils, spark plugs checked the tps sensor. Oddly enough the car seems to be running better as the days go by however it’s still got a slight misfire that I can hear.. I also permanently have the yellow triangle “!” On the dash accompanied by the VSA warning light. Even after disconnecting the battery for an extended amount of time as soon as I connect it and turn the key these lights come on immediately. My engine light flashes and goes away. And one last thing I decided to take the top plate off the intake manifold and this is what I saw inside. Didn’t look good. Obviously this is restricting I scraped it clean for now while I wait for new one. Wondering if water may have come up through here and rapidly cooled the gasket causing it to separate.Or it got to hot? Anyone ever seen this?
Perhaps I need to clean the whole intake manifold as there is some oil?
Thanks
