Im replacing my single disk DVD with a 6 disk unit. Is it necessary to disconnect the battery before installing a replacment radio and its codes. I've tried to install without disconnecting battery and Im geting a Err 1 msg.

 

try disconecting the antenna on the back of the headunit before entering the code
