Radio not turning off with ignition - 02 Acura TL
Hello everyone/anyone,
I have a 2002 Acura Tl 3.2 and I am having an issue with my stock Acura (Bose) radio.
When I turn off the ignition and remove the key, the radio does not turn off. I have to manually turn it off. When I turn it off the red security light does NOT flash like it usually does. If I leave the radio on, lock the doors, the radio will stay on, and the security lights will flash by the door locks.
I have installed a cd changer in the trunk and an additional amp, sub, and crossover. However I installed these almost 3 years ago, and have had no problems with the system until now. I have also noticed that the CD changer will no longer turn on either, just for information sake, it is a 6 year old sony 10 disk mp3 cd changer, and a 10+ year old phoenix gold amp and crossover. However my amp and cross over are just fine, i.e. they still turn on and off with the radio, and work.
My first idea was the fuses so checked both the fuses related to the radio/acc system (one under the hood and one in the passenger door jam). I also thought that it might be a short circuit caused by the amp or cd changer, but I would imagine that if this was the case, the radio would not turn on at all, nor would the amp or crossover as they are running on a common acc power supply with the cd changer.
I have not noticed any other ignition related issues with my car other then this (yet).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might cause this, and better yet how to fix it? The dealer wants to "troubleshoot" the problem, at $120 an hour and have no guarantees they can fix it
