Radio Code (yeah I know but please help)

Well we got our Acura about 6 months ago. The battery was disconnected recently and now I need a code. The dealership that sold us that car says that they'll charge us hourly for the code (a code that was never provided to us in the first place). I see a number serial(?) starting with B then 8 numbers then an A on a sticker next to the glove compartment so I'm not sure if that's the radio's s/n. I really don't wanna pay someone hourly but not sure what else to do (aside from taking the radio out). I checked under the fuse (under the hood) and there's nothing there. I have looked thoroughly in the leather case with the manual and there's nothing in there. Pressing 1&6 doesn't work. I wouldn't even mind driving to the Acura dealership or the dealership we got the car from, as long as I'm not getting charged hourly. Any help?

first of all it takes like 2 minutes. my dealer did it right in front of me! so they are trying to rip you off.
they were suposed to give you a card with a 5 digit # on it. mine came in my manual. my card had the wrong # so thats why i had them find out my #.

my dealer wanted to charge me 140$ flat to remove the radio for the serial number........Pretty much they are lying to you, i believe they have the codes on file. When they changed my battery a while back my radio worked when i got the car back, plus they did not ask me if i still had the code or even knew it.

my dealer didnt have to remove the radio at all, all they removed was the wood trim on the right side of the radio (wich just pops out) and there was the serial # that they put in their computer and got my code.

So is my best bet re-calling my dealer or calling the dealership where it was originally sold? Or is there some general Acura number I'll probably have better luck with? I have the registration and whatever proof of ownership but I really don't want to pay some guy hourly.

Is that sticker that I found near the glove compartment with the B 8#'s and then A the serial?

I GOT IT! woohoo! My hubby called up the original dealership, told him we had all the info, they didn't need any serial #, they just asked for the VIN number and gave us a code (which worked!). I'm just so happy we didn't have to pay for it. I can't drive around without music!

I was pissed at my dealer because I didn't get a "card" with the Radio Code and I was resetting my Nav to bring it in for service. But then I got the "Code" message on the radio after I yanked the battery cable.

So fumbling around the glove box I found my TL "Maintenance Journal". The Dealer wrote the Radio & Nav system codes right in there for me.

I'm no longer pissed at my dealer for not giving me a "card"

So Glasshoppers.. Check your "Maintenance Journal" included with your Owners manual if you ever run into this.
