There's no oil gauge in our cars. Are you talking about the temperature gauge on the right side?

Start it up, let it run for a minute to warm up and cycle the oil through the engine, and start driving. That will warm up the engine a lot faster; there's no point in letting the car sit 'til it reaches full operating temperature. That's a waste of gas and time.

oil guage, what kind of acura do you have? if you are talking about the temp guage you could have a faulty thermostat that is stuck open.

as far as i know, there isnt an oil gauge in our cars, other than the check engine light after a few thousand miles. Temp gauge is what i think ur talkin about. Do what Pure Adrenaline says for warming up. I do the same pretty much.

its not always going to move right away, if the engines cold its gonna take some time, the only way its going to move right away is if u turn the car off and back on in a short peroid of time

If the engine is cold, then it's going to take a while to warm up, especially in cold climates. If it's freezing out, then the engine is at that same temperature. It will take some time to warm up to operating temperature.

the guage measures the temp of the engine, so if its cold its gonna read cold, if its a normal operating temp, it'll be in the middle, if its running hot then it'll spike to the top. kind of like the gas guage telling you how much gas is in the tank, its not always full.
