Radiator Fan Problem

Ok, so its been pretty hot here in SoCal lately. The other day when I shut down the car (took the key out of the ignition) the driver side radiator fan stayed on. This has happend before and so I didn't mind it. However after returning to my car in an hour or so, the fan was still on. Fearing that it would drain my battery I unplug it whenever I turn off the car and plug it back in when I drive. I don't know whats wrong. I hope you guys have some ideas. And yes after I let the car cool down and its not too hot outside (night time) I tried plugging it back in, and it turns on instantly.

Sounds like the fan thermo switch is bad. when it cools down the switch should switch to off, but it didn't.

go to www.autozone.com or www.kragen.com and look up price for part and one of those sites has a parts location guide- shows where it goes, should be no big deal

I fixed the problem. THnx for the replies guys. Im just posting just in case that anyone else has the same problem. So I got to thinking what if it was an electrical problem, because it would still run when the engine was already cold (i.e. idle for one night). So I checked the relays. Thats where I found the problem. With the help of an electrical tester, I found that the cooling fan relay was stuck on the closed position. The next day I went to the PepBoys but they didn't have it, so I went to the stealership. The part was only about 8 bucks so it wasnt that bad.

How bout a pic or description of where it was located and how you tested it.
When the next person uses search they will have a complete answer.

Anyone know how to perform the relay mentioned above?
