quick question for you second geners
My dad has a 99 TL (not S-type) and needs a new IAC. Upon searching for a new one, I find there are two of them. One is for a 3204 cc engine and one is for a 3210 cc engine. The 3210cc eng is for the TLS, rite? Does it matter which one he buys? I was just hoping for a quick explanation and was too lazy to search.
I assume you want the part number because you are planning on replacing it yourself? If so, yank that bad boy off and shoot some carb cleaner in it. Scrub it with a toothbrush and you should be set. I did this on mine and I have driven about 25k miles since with no problems.
@fsttymm1 or anyone here, I am wondering something. How can I find out why there are three part numbers from two revisions? What makes a new part number? The OEM websites say
16022-P8A-A01 and
16022-P8A-A02 are replaced by
16022-P8A-A03.
I presume A01 was what I orginally had when it was built and what I am looking to fix. I think I have to replace mine but I'm wondering if its worth paying 200 for the
16022-P8A-A03 or if I should just go aftermarket. Was something redesigned since they seem go to shit if your car sits for a few months?
I tried the cleaning, didn't work but at 19 years, Im ok replacing the part. Just not sure if I need to spend the 200 on part number
16022-P8A-A03. Thanks

Hey @NighthawkBlack,
I am in the process of parting out my 99 Accord V6 which has the same IAC valve part number. I bought it a few years ago to replace the same issue after cleaning didn't work for me either. I gotta go to the car to pull it off but if you're interested we can work out a deal so you don't have to buy completely brand new? It has maybe 30K miles on it?
