Question about remote transmitter programming

Just bought an '03 TL and it only come with one remote and a key. I did some research in this forum and someone mentioned that you have to use a working( remote that has already been programmed and work with your car) remote transmitter if you follow the '4x on/off' procedure.

I though to myself that it doesn't make sense that way...but then again. I only have one remote and so if programming is unsuccessful, my working remote might not work after and pretty much screw.

There is always the dealer...but you know the story behind that!!

Thanks for any advice!

You know the procedure(4x on/off) that is posted everywhere on this forum...do you have to use a working(already programmed) remote with that procedure?

Then when you get to step #13 you program the non-working one.

No, you shouldnt need a working one. That procedure is to reset and train ALL new ones (up to 3)
