Q?- Non-synthetic to Synthetic?

hi i bought my car used at 45k miles and my last oil change i got done at the dealer..
should i assume that all the previous oil changes were with regular oil?
i am now up for an oil change and i feel the urge to switch to synthetic oil.
my question is, i read a member saying from switching from non-syn to syn, there will be less then optimal results. is this true?
and if so, can anyone suggest a product i need to flush/clean before my syn. change?
thanks

You will be fine switching to syntetic. At your mileage you dont really have to flush, but if you want you can use goldeagle from your local auto center.

some guy, i forget who, on the board said there will be a lot of deposits left over and such, and that the synthetic will not be able to clean it out.
is that true?
i dont know if i should make the change or not.
thanks.

Synthetic oil WILL clean out those deposits. It might take it a while if there is alot, nevertheless it still will. If you use Mobile1 get the extended mileage.

When I had my Lincoln way back I switched to synthetic at 150k. Within 3 weeks I removed the oil filler cap off the valve cover & noticed that the lifters where not black anymore! Since I didnt use a flush I had to change my oil twice in two months. When I sold it, it had 350K & its original tranny

yes another member stated that. there is no need to do a flush, but you can if you want. Most that have switched never flushed including myself and i have seen great results with the synthetic
