The outer coating on my stock 17" 2003 tls wheels is peeling away on two of my wheels. The other two are fine so far. Not causd by damage against curbs, etc. Anyone know if there is a way to put the ext. coating back on the wheels as they are in great shape other than this issue.

this side of having them stripped and re cleared there is nothing you can do.

 

Yeah, you'll have to take them to a professional wheel repairer. It's happened to my wheels and my mom's wheels. It's not surprising considering how much salt and sand they toss on the roads here during the winter. I'm still debating as to whether I want to go this route or just buy a new set of wheels for the summer and keep my existing wheels as winters since refinishing wheels is not cheap.

Wait, can they be re-cleared?
