Preventative Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance
I just purchased a 2002 TL Type S with 76,000 miles. I was only able to get a partial history of the service that has been done (including the new transmission). It was dealer serviced, but mostly just oil changes and fixing minor problems. I would like to start doing maintenance with the plan being to keep the car for 10 years.
The list I could think of included:
* Fuel Filter
* Air Filter
* Spark Plugs
* brake fluid flush
* Coolant flush
* Transmission flush
* timing belt/water pump
I have an independent mechanic who lets me buy the parts and he installs them, so I am putting together a shopping list.
Some of this, like the timing belt/water pump can probably safely wait a couple of years. Is there anything else that should be added to the list?

Fuel filter is just a filter in the tank. Its a sock. No need changing it. Spark plugs should be good to 100k. brake and coolant flush, wouldnt hurt but probably not necessary. tranny is just a 3 quart drain and fill. there is no servicable filter on it to replace. timing bet/h2o pump should be good till 100k

clean your fuel system, do a coolant exchange every year, tranny drain/fill(only, do not do a flush) once a year, changing plugs at 76k is not a bad idea, but not necessary. also changing cabin filter every 25k is recommended. cleaning egr valve cannot hurt especially if you spend 110.00 and put the thermoblok spacer kit in while you're at it. chaning power steering fluid is never a bad thing. changing brake fluid is not necessary unless you are changing your brakes. these cars need minimal maintenance, just change your fluid at or before the recommended intervals and your car will run great.

personally if u know how to change plugs and if its easy for u, do it, cause those lead to coil pack issues, and it becomes a bitch when it happens......
