PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! I'm having serious problems with my brakes
I noticed that something was going wrong with my brakes last week when i would be sitting a stop light and i would apply pressure to the brake pedal and let it sit there for a few moments then apply more pressure and it would go down further, the more i did this the farther the pedal would travel to the floor. I thought it was my master cylinder so i replaced it tonight and bled the system going back right(passenger's side), back left, front right, and then front left. After i bled them the pedal felt great but as soon as i turned the car on the pedal went to the ground acting as if i never bled them. I can turn the car back off and pump the brakes and it goes back to normal. I did notice that when the car is on i can hear some kind of hiss sound everytime i hit the brakes coming from the abs unit. I didn't touch the abs unit when bleeding the system was i supposed to do something to the unit or is the abs unit itself failing. Please reply, i need my car back to normal by monday. Thanks.
No sweat man, you didnt know the trick special acura bleeding order is all, this should fix you right up
LF= left front Driver front
start there and go clockwise around the car
LF RF RR LR
I know it sounds crazy but that is the correct and approved method.
The ABS may have gotten air in it during the install- stuff happens
Go test drive after rebleeding in the correct order.
Do 2 ABS stops from 45mph.
If the pedal gets better 2nd time, you had air in the abs
Rebleed the brakes again and you should be done
NOTE: When you first put the car in gear the ABS runs a test and makes a small noise, then at 5 mph it makes another test and noise. Nothing should make noise after that
PM me if you need more help
