peeling chrome

The driver's side power door switch's chrome is peeling off. Anyone have suggestions what to do, or just live with it? Car has 163,000 miles on it, and is now parked outside (garage already has 2 cars), so I imagine the sun is going to make stuff like this wear even faster. I always put up the sunshade, but it's definitely no substitute for a garage.

Uhhh... yeah. I was really looking for any thoughts on ways to cover up the plastic underneath the chrome so it was less obvious. I don't plan to spend significant money or time on a nearly 10-year old car.

Dude it's $15 for a new switch, just replace it. You'll spend much more time (and probably money) trying to hide it rather than replacing it.

I understand the little part itself is cheap, but it's the door panel that's a problem for me. A little beyond my current skills. If I paid a shop to do it, it would cost more than I want to pay.

Scroll down this thread until you get to the part about removing the door panel. It's easier than you think it is.

2 Screws and unplugging four color coated plugs is as hard as removing the door panel is. Follow those directions in that link and if you still cannot do it please for the sake of your car get one of these as fast as possible
