parking brake light staying on.

Everytime I brake hard my light on my dash turns on. I checked the parking brake, and the fluid it all seems to be ok to me. Was hoping someone could help me with this issuse. The light will stay on in the morning when I first start my car. Then after actually driving it the light will turn off, and only come on when I apply the brakes for like a stop sign then it goes right back off after I let go of the brakes. I never really use the parking brake, and I wasnt using it this moring when it started doing it. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I cant stand to ever see any light on my dash so I always get everything fixed right ASAP.

Double check the brake fluid reservoir, had this same thing happen to me awhile ago. While parked the fluid seems ok, but when accelerating, or braking the fluid shifts and the light comes on.

the brake fluid cap sensor also runs that light
when your brakes get low, fluid moves from the res to the calipers
triggering the low level function of the sensor
g forces move fluid in res and sensor reacts

take cap off and examine slider, flip cap upside down- does the light go off?
new cap is $35
cracks in cap, damage to its wire connectors will trigger light too

sticking slider, gunky looking fluid? what do you find?
last brake fluid flush more than 3 years,,do that too

If brake fluid reservoir is low and no leaks are apparent, it is possible pads are quite low. Be sure to check your brake pad condition. Won't take long to do.
