Parking Brake

At times, I have difficulty in setting the parking brake. I would have to apply the brake two, three, maybe four times before it catches on. It is not like I am fully depressing the emergency brake to the point where it would release itself either (like you would do when taking off the parking brake). Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a possible fix? Thanks in advance.

Yeah it's strange. I just did a search on this matter, and found that there were a few members who had to apply the foot pedal a few times before latching. Luckily for them, the whole assembly was replaced for them under warranty. Sounds like i am gonna have to do the same, only my warranty is a mute point with 135,000 miles

My car had the same problem at about six months old. I bought it in to the dealership, and they replaced the whole parking brake assembly because its not latching properly.

I am going to order the assembly this afternoon off of acuraparts247.com. Including shipping I can get the unit for $73.35, which is better than the $92.99 (plus tax) price I was given by the dealership this morning. Looking at the assembly it should be fairly easy for me to install. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

how does the p-brake work?

caues mine works fine when i'm parking downhill, when the nose is pointing down, but it doesn't hold the car when i'm parked uphill, like when i'm last to enter my driveway , so my nose is pointing up. the p-brake doesn't hold the car at all... is this normal?
