Oil leak

My car appears to have a very slight oil leak, before going to get my next oil change that I am do for this weekend, I wanted to get underneth the car and check out some areas where the leak could be coming from, maybe the filter is not screwed in tight enough, maybe the oil pan, may be a seal just wondering what I should check, also I used mobile one synthetic my last oil change is it ok to go back to the regular kind? and if so what grade do you recommend now that the weather is getting warm? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks!

put a piece of cardboard under there..the drips should give you a rough estimate on where to start looking. Get under there and look for coated parts-try and follow to where you see a clean area. If you suspect an area, clean it real good with brake parts cleaner and run the engine for a while-then re check.

Far as synthetic back to regular-wont hurt a thing.

Stick with the stock recommended weight.
Find where its leaking from before jumping to conclusions like going back to regular. Syn isnt the cause.

When you say 'appears' is that because you see some on the floor or because your oil level has dropped since your last change?

Yes, you can change between syn and regular oil.

Thanks for everyones response, rob-2, I said appears because my oil level keeps dropping and I do see some dark liquid on the floor but at the rate the oil is going down it seems like there should be more on the floor, also I have an axle that needs to be changed so some of the stain on the floor could be coming from there also, going for an oil change tomorrow and want to find out what the problem is before I fill it up again.
