That'll work. I buy 5 and use about 4.5 of it.

Look in your owners manual. Oil capacity is 4.6 quarts. Drain bolt is underneath the motor on the passenger side. 19 mm bolt. Transmission bolt is to the left of that or closer to driver side. 3/8" ratchet fits into bolt to loosen. Fill atf on top of trans. You might see a bolt marked "ATF" or you might have the recall oil jet with black hose and bracket. Take out hose and fill. Transmission will drain 3 quarts maybe a lil bit more.

yea i didnt see oil there in the DIY, and i dont have an owners manual. I was wondering if trans fluid should be changed. Don't want it to fail because i've heard things about that.

Its common sense on oil change. If you need a diy on oil change then you shouldn't be "diy". So, if you dont know how to do an oil change without someone telling/showing step by step how to do it, do not attempt to change your tranny fluid. Thats just my .02

there are tips on threads about oil change- it may not be official diy but look for it in general threads
It has things like using a ziplock bag around the oil filter to catch most of it safely- no spillage from the filter on ground
normally a lot gets on the suspenion arm and must be wiped up~

depending on your year and miles for trans fluid- a normal 3 qt dump and refill is good enough for now

Just picked up 5qt of Mobil1 with Mobil1 oil filer from PepBoys for 29.99 + tax.
Mobil1 oil filter alone is $12, so its a good deal.

which mobil1 oil??- there are several `levels`-
they changed the names around and used lower base oil and still get to call it full synthetic

they are all fine to use, and 30 bucks for an oil change is a really good deal
I need to do mine this week- throw seafoam in oil and drive a few days first

Plain "Mobil1 Fully Synthetic". Autozone has for $36 Mobil1 EP with Mobil1 filter.

This is for my wife's RDX, I usually put Mobil1 EP + Mobil1 oil filter. Change it once a year or 7-8K miles... or when I feel like it, I think once I took it for 9K. Engine runs excellent, I am not worried about it....

he joined azine in may this year, so a guess would be around that time they bought a TL
and wonder about oil change needs,,3000 5000 7500 miles, what weight etc

Is the yellow `mait req` light flashing on the dash at start?, or has now come on solid?
thats the oil change reminder- it doent know anything except its reached 7500 miles since last time it was reset--which hopefully was at the last oil change
It doesnt know about the actual condition of the oil

Those who run longer interval (or dont want to listen to the wife about it for a week until its done)- reset the light and get to it when they can--might reset it again then or spaz and forget

ok that means you are between 6500 and 7500 miles since last oil minder reset--you are right on schedule,,it gets more insistant as you near 7500

the light reset procedure requires both hands,, reaching thru the steering wheel to hold both trip buttons with left hand, then turn key to ON with right hand- light flashes several times then off
congrats- you reset it!
