hey! i have a problem here. i've notice that sometimes when i'm driving my odometer light dims off and then it would reappear again. is there a solution to this? please help. desperate!!! thanks

 

Yeah, I have the same problem. It's pretty strange. I haven't figured out what it is. It doesn't appear to be causing any problems yet and my TL has been doing it periodically for about 3 months.

 

Take the speedo gages out and replace the 3 bulbs.

 

Is it just the odo light or is it the entire odo cluster--i.e. odo, outside temp, and door open indicator? If it's the cluster, check out the thread "Odometer backlight & sport shift indicator not working".

When the odo dims, try shifting into sport shift and see if the gear indicator comes on. If not, you've got the same problem I do...and I don't think just replacing the bulbs will solve the problem. The three bulbs behind the odo cluster are LEDs, and if I'm not mistaken when LEDs fail they fail for good...unlike incandescents that can come and go as the filament flops around inside the bulb.

 

I had the same problem, posted it here and someone sugested to hit the dashboard and it would work again. I tried it and it worked!!!, the whole speedometer is lit again. The only thing tho is that it happened again after around 4 months. I hit it again and voala!! lights on again.
