No Heat

Its blowing cold/cool @ 90 degree setting. I havnt had time to diagnose yet, but wondered if anyone else had this problem before and knows what it is.
I hope its not the heater core

Hm, you might have a few problems. Have you tested anything yet? Is it blowing at least cold air?

I looked at the fuses on drivers side and under the hood. Now I need to test the heat blower relay under the hood and check if the heater core is not plugged. It sucks having a problem that not many people have run into.

I found out what my problem is. It is the "control valve" aka "heater valve".

You can see the picture of the part **HERE**

It's $50 at the dealer or you can get it for $29 **HERE**

So if you have no heat, it's still blowing air, you don't have water on the passenger side floor or condensation on your windshield, look at this first.

Fsttyms, I think you are right about the temp control being inspire99's problem.

I'm having the same problem. Where is this valve located and how hard is it to switch out?

The part listed is for 99-00, does this apply to an '01 as well?

Here's pictures of the part

It's almost in the center of the firewall.

Satori, call the 800 number on the second web site & ask them about that part for a 01. I did see that part available for that year on their site.

Thanks I'll take a look at it.

Have you switched yours out? Did it fix the problem?

Mine was stuck so I just played with it and got it to work. I ordered a new one yesterday because even though its working now it still needs to be replaced so I dont have to deal with it again. Not a big deal to replace; two clamps & hoses.

Post again if you guys get yours fixed.

Yes it is like that. The only way to tell is have someone inside the car after it has warmed up and set the dial to 60 then have someone watch the valve while the person inside the car turns on the heat and moves the dail towards 90. If it works, the valve should open/move towards the passenger side, if not then it won't move at all.

Its this part that is bad

I replaced it when I did my headers. I will tell right now that the bolt that holds the bracket to the firewall was a pain to remove and it would have been a nightmare if the downpipe was still there.
