Newbie needs advice

I just purchased a 99 TL with 93000 miles. I had a Legend several years back, sold to my step son and he still hasn't broken it. Anyway, I drove the car home about 130 miles and after it had sat in the garage for 5 hours I moved it only to find an oil spot the size of 2 dollar bills near the front, inline with the license plate.
Any thoughts on what I should check first?
Also, I did not get a spare or the hardware to mont it. If I pick one up for an accord, will that work?
Thanks for the help! I've learned alot about TL's from this site already.

What color is the spot? Green? red? brown?

Welcome to the forum

As for the spare, the jack and tools should be the same. Not sure if the accord has the same size spare?

spot

It's brown. Looks like oil, but I don't see anything from the top of the engine.

In line with the license plate, but Under the car? or under the area of the license plate?

i think he meant parallel to the license plate holder.. which seems like the oil resevoir.. hmm maybe while someone was puttin oil, they put too much? ... they might've put some on the side by accident? , over spilled? ... i thinks its an oil leak however, go clean ur car and let it dry and check the next day... (use the automated ones) cuz they have jets that clean the undercarriage as well.. this way u can tell if it was a one time leak or on going leak...

and any leak larger then a quarter for a period of a day is something u need to look into asap.
