New brakes , good rotors, steering wheel still vibrates..?????

I just changed my brakes thinking that the reason for my steering wheel shakes were due to old worn brake. But it still vibrates when braking from a high speed.??..balanced tires and good rotors.. what could it be now? Bushings???? Somebody got some insight on this.??

When you say good rotors, did you do a run out and check with a micrometer? As cheap as rotors are these days (about $20 each from RockAuto) I'm always amazed at the people who don't replace their rotors with every brake job and then complain about noise or steering wheel vibration.

I agree. The single piston design of these calipers are hard on rotors when it comes to warping. Replace the rotors. Also, thoroughly clean the hub with a wire wheel and lightly coat with anti seize before installing the new ones.

I agree with y'all. Curious...has anyone had warping on a particular rotor? I seem to warp my front left more significantly than any other post. I just attributed it to buying cheap rotors, but curious if it actually has to do with relative position to the proportioning valve.

I had always believed that the continual 200 pound or so driver caused the imbalance. In the thousands of brake jobs I have done, the drivers front always had just a slight amount more of wear.

Vibrating

Frozen caliper leading to - or -wheel bearing going bad, or CV axle...check for leaking CV boot, or try sharp right and left hand turns in a parking lot

Upper ball joints for sure. Very simple to change out. If one is bad you should go ahead an do both of them.

I guess you could spend thousands on parts and labor in the many guesses you received. A shaking steering wheel? Why didn't anyone suggest Parkinson's?
