Need Help With Door Acuator Removal !

Hi All :

Sorry all, second post for this request. I think my first post didn't ask for help in the title and so I thought I'd try and re-post. I don't need help getting the door panel off, just the acuator out of the door frame.

Here's the original post.......

Well, my passenger side door would intermittently stick so I took off the panel and tried to remove the actuator from the door. After removing the three screws holding the lock in place and one from the bottom of the window track, I can’t seem to drop the unit out as there are two rods going up to door handle keeping it in place. I can’t even see the attachment points as they are in the rear of the unit. Also, the assembly seems to be in a “deadly embrace” with the window track. Anyone out there done this before ?

Anyone have pictures or diagrams of what these things look like ?

……..and yes I need to stop being cheap and buy a workshop manual.

Thanks in advance to all who reply

their might not be enough room to take the actuator out with out cutting a bigger opening for it. but than again i dont know. try searching on how big the actuator is and see if u can find a pic of a door with out the panel on and than compare the two and see if u could squeeze it out.

Still looking for help.............

Hi Raj :

Thanks for the reply.

I have had the door apart and the actuator lose in my hand. I just can't seem to negotiate the unit around the window track.

Can the track be removed ? Is there another way to get it out ?

Clearly it got in there, so it must come out. I'm looking for someone who has actually replaced this part.

It has to be able to come out. I dont have the manual here with me but im guessing the track needs to be removed if you cant get it past it.

Hi fsttyms1 :

There is one screw at bottom and easily removed, the other(s), I have no clue.
