It started yesterday on the way home, if the front end goes up and down I get A nasty noise from front left side of car also when braking hard and at a stop when you turn steering wheel side to side. I took left front tire off and all looks fine.Notice after car was on jack. I went for A test drive, Noise was gone but came back after driving 5 miles or so.
Do I have a bad strut?

 

does it sound like groaning springs or metal to metal grinding or what? how many miles do you have on your suspension? is it stock? lowered?

did you shake the car manually to listen for it? just stand next to the wheel and rock the car a few times. it might be easier to identify when outside. i had a bit of a squeak so i sprayed grease on all the suspension joints and it went away.
