My TL-S is haunted !!! ?? !!!

I have a 03 TL-S lately since the weather got cold my car has been doing the following.

-in the morning and only in the morning when i start the car the rear passenger window opens one inch

-while im driving if i keep the car under 60 everything is fine. If i go over 60 the check engine light, triangle, vsa lights turn on. When i scan for an error code nothing shows up..If i drive over eighty or in cruise everything is fine.

-when i turn the car off the driver's window rolls down half an inch

-and at the most random times usually in the morning or at night when i leave work the doors lock then when im driving they will unlock

everything is stock minus the headunit.

I'm thinking maybe the ecu?

its a ghost .....sorry couldn't resist, the thing i've had happen to me on that list is the window thing which has happened to me a few times but both times it was going on it was my rear window, and it was around the time i needed to change the battery, once i changed the battery the window stopped going down, i noticed cuz it happened both times i needed a new battery, and it hasn't done it since, as for the lights going off over 60, get to a scanner and see what pops up..

As a start, I'd get you battery load tested and have the alternator/ charging system checked out. Also check your battery terminals for corrosion.

Cars can display all sorts of strange electrical behavior if the voltage is low.

Good luck and let us know what you figure out.

Dunno if that will fix the problem, but make sure it is a TL-S PCM and not a TL-P.

If that doesn't take care of it, check the multiplex control unit(s)

Behind the fuse box under the dash. I had a "haunted" car too and found an electrical troubleshooting manual on ebay, then traced all the circuits for the components that were acting up, and they all went through the unit. I think there is one on each side of the dash and also in the door, but mine was on the drivers side under the dash. Fixed all my problems. Search this site for drivers multiplex control unit. The dealer can run a test, but I didn't want to drive that far.

That's very interesting and a nice job troubleshooting.

Once you removed the bad part was there anything about it that looked odd from a visual inspection standpoint?

Just looks like a circuit board and a chip. Too high tech for me!

Exclamation

update changed the ecu, battery, checked all the fuses.

everything was going peachy the doors stopped acting weird the check engine light went away.

Now if i hit unlock twice my trunk opens .

when i leave my lights on turn off the car and lock it the head lights turn off. When i unlock it first the left one turns on then the right one. when i lock it again and wait then unlock it the right one turns on then the left one.
I installed new bulbs and new ballest same thing starting to freak me out a bit.

I think SS2003 is correct. When you say ECU are you talking the one that controls the engine / transmission? Or one of the multiplex control units in the driver's door, drivers fuse panel (as SS2003 did) or passenger's fuse panel?
Problems like these are a pain to troubleshoot, and as SS2003 found, troubleshooting the multiplex controllers and wiring was more costly than replacing the mux.
