my Engine on FIRE

OK here is the story.... few days before i put new high beems in my car... yesterday, my left headlight stopped working so i put the high beem on. while i was driving i saw the smoke comming out of the hood. i stopped the car try to open the hood but it wasnt opening and the car shutoff it self. when i bend down and saw under the hood through the grille, it was fire. i called 911, they came in 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes whole street was full of smoke (it happened in Newyork Queens in Hillside 121street) .....hey broke the hood, and water the whole shit and the fire was gone.

Now everything except some stuff on the left is BURNED... i have to get a new engine because my car is on Libility and Financed and i still have alot of payments left to pay. SO please help me by telling me where to get the new engine and stuff.. im also looking to customize the whole hood giving it more hp now that i have to change all that stuff..start from scratch

Wow, where to begin.

First thing I'd do is take it to a body shop and get an estimate. If the fire is as bad as you say, it may not be repairable. Heat has a funny way of warping and bending metal to the point that it cannot be fixed.

You can still take it to a body shop to get a estimate. Atleast that way you have an idea of what your going to need to do and buy, and spend.

Maybe now you will get full coverage??

this is a great place to search for parts

sorry about you mishap. but this is what i don't understand, you try to save a buck and not get full coverage, but now you have enough money to fix the car which i am gonna guess at least $5K, maybe even more? good luck bro!

If you still owe a lot on the car, you shouldn't be puting all that extra money into it. Just fix it and get it on the road. Get at least 4 estimates and then go from there.

not trying to add insult to injury but exactly what wattage were you using?

sorry to hear about the problem though. hopefully you'll be able to get the car repaired and get it taken care of. also are you sure you're not mistaken about your coverage? most financial institutions will require you to have full coverage on a vehicle if you are borrowing money from them.

wow thats crazy

unless you have at least 10 grand in your pocket, i wouldnt even begin to think about superchargers and stuff

just drop a typeS engine into it and get all the parts repaired. sounds lke you might receive a salvage title due to the fire
