Unhappy My car fell =(

My friend and I was painting my calipers and jacked front left and front right sides of my TL then took out both front wheels. When we put back front left wheel, my friend all of a sudden released jack one the left rapidly. The cheap jack under the right side slipped and my car fell towards the front right fender. I GOT SO PISSED!!! The rotor hit the floor!!! It was supporting weight of the car for like a minute til we were able to raise the car again. My fault too I guess for not being observant on whats goin' on... Im thinkin of bringing my car to an acura dealer to have it checked since this maybe a serious problem but infamous COST at dealership is making me think twice. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do? Is my car safe to drive in the freeway? The only damage noticeable was that the metal sheet behind the rotor was bent so we just used pliers to fix it back to its normal shape. HELP PLEASE...

not sure of all the problems that ensue after the load being dropped on the rotors... tough lesson to learn. jack stands are a must. much safer also.

i would think it could knock something out of wack and if that was the case. freeway driving might not be such a safe thing to do.

Step back from that & think.... first off, be VERY thankful neither you nor your friend was seriously injured, or worse (I assumed this since you didn't say). THEN worry about the car. Seriously, go buy some jackstands before you EVER do that again, & use them. They don't cost very much & it's just not worth the risks. Also chock the rear wheels & set the emergency brake FIRST.

Probably should remove the rotors & have them checked for runout.

its probably fine. just push the brake dush shields back to their normal position and drive it. observe any noise or vibrations. if there are any its probably from the rotors, replace.

Thank your for your responses, advices and concern. I am new to the whole car environment and so Im still learning a lot. The rotors look fine (no cracks or visible marks or derformities) and also, after we put back the dust shields to its normal position, I havent noticed any noise or vibrations... (I did some freeway driving this morning) Is there anything else possible that can be damaged that I should check on other than rotor and dust shield? Maybe brace holding the whole suspension is misaligned or rotor maybe tilted inwards?

Unless you are feeling hearing or seeing something wrong odd are its fine.

And like stated before. you should NEVER work with jacks supporting the vehicle. Always use Jack Stands. You can get a nice New pair for 20 bucks

Understood. Will never do that again. If I go to a shop, they should know what parts to check right, just need to tell them what happened? Or going to the dealer would be best?

I would think that everything is ok unless you notice something while driving it. You could pull the wheels again and inspect everything closely with a light for better peace of mind. How far did it fall? On concrete, I would guess?

it did hit concrete... rotor was touching it, supporting the weight of the car. I was so lucky that it didnt crush the oem kit that i just put on. it was very close like an inch maybe. good thing im not lowered yet... or else... should i replace rotor? when do we replace rotors anyway? i have 100k miles already and car is 7 yrs old. pls advise...

I wouldnt waste my time bringing it any where. Simply drive it. If you dont notice any noise or issues every thing should be fine.

Ouch! Greatest chance if anything happened would be the rotor, ithink. I would just do some pretty hard braking to make sure its fine.

I'm sure it's fine...
biggest lesson here...work alone. I swear...I know it's nice to have help/company...but if the person is less mechanically inclined than you they can cause more damage than help.

Good luck!
