My 00' TL Was Idling Really Low and Turned Off. What is the Problem?

So the other day I turned on my car and at first it was idling really low. I gave it some gas and it just stuttered and finally turned off. I then started it again and it ran fine. This same thing has happed twice already. Has this happened to anyone else? What was the problem? Thanks.

I had that same issue, afterwards my rpm's would jump up and down so i changed my IAC (Idle Air Control) (located under the throttle body) and it hasnt shut off on me yet $100 for the IAC from Acura.

Thanks for your reply.
I have about 82,000 miles. How many miles were on yours when it happened?

You cant "blow" it out. It needs to be taken off and cleaned with carb cleaner, and some say a little bit of wd40 to help keep it lubed

I meant to say blow it out with carb cleaner. thank you for the correction.

If you decide to take out the IAC make sure you have a new throttle body gasket ready and also some silicon sealant wouldnt hurt either. reason for the TB gasket is just in case the one on it now rips/tears.

I think I'm going to change the idle air control because my car did the same thing today. How long did it take you to change it?

By the way, this seems to only happen to my car after "spirited" driving.

Try cleaning it and spraying a tad bit of WD40 in it, and see if that helps before replacing it.

Shouldnt take more than 30-40 min to install (thats if you take the TB off to make it easier to get to)
