Lower control arm installed but....
I coupld of days ago I had my lower control arm installed, while installing it they removed the axle, while removing the axle the boot on the axle slide off slightly but hey were able to slide it back into place but my question is when they were installing the axle back it took them around 1/2 hour and they had to finagle it, meaning they used some tool to either shave or do something to it, I'm not sure, but my question is, shouldn't the axle have fit right back into place, also not sure if its me but I still hear/feel a slight clunk on that side. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The only thing that I can think of offhand is the circlip at the end of the axle where it goes into the transmission. If they had a hard time seating it, that could be why, but that usually just pops into place.
As far as a clunk, you'll have to get the front end up in the air and see if there's any play anywhere....

there is no reason to take the half shaft out to replace the lower control arm to start with, so I'm betting they screwed stuff up so they have more to fix later on down the road. Might want to start looking for a new mechanic.
