Low Gas Light Not Working?

Hey guys, I've had my 03 TL-S for a couple years and ever since I had it the low fuel light has never come on. I've run my tank to the last notch before orange and still no light. Is the LED behind it dead? Or does the needle go almost all the way down to the pin before it comes on?

I've run it as low as this before and usually chicken out before it gets even lower.

Also as a side note I only use premium gas, as recommended, if that matters.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you!

That's about actually about when it comes on, maybe a little before. I've had mine go past red completely. You probably have 50 miles left in the there. Fill it up all the way, that will tell you how much you have left. The tank holds 17.2 Scaredy cat

Premium gas does matter.

If you do not use 91 octane minimum then your EGR port/passage will get clogged up.

The nice thing about Hondas is that their gas gauges are pretty accurate so I sometimes drive mine until the needle goes over the empty stripe. At that point the tank will take about 15 gallons - as mentioned the capacity is actually 17gal so you can run your car BELOW the empty mark for as much as 40-60 miles

I've noticed that my light comes on when the needle goes below the last black mark.

the low light comes on with approx 3 gallons remaining in tank,
Continue to drive - I have personally added a max of 16.5- so we will say the `reserve` low fuel light section contains 2.5 gal useable fuel. Gives you 40-50 miles to find a station
Refueling when the light comes on takes 14.1 to 14.3

DO USE 91, thats what it needs to be happy, 94 makes it happier! but no higher than 94

The gauge isnt accurate at the end due to shape of tank. My 01 goes well past E and still running.
Make a habit of resetting a trip meter when low light comes on and see what it will do.
Drive 25 miles then refuel, how much does it take?
Now you know what is real and what is indicated!
