Low Beam Problem......HELP!!!!

Ok, I thought that I just needed a new bulb for my headlight but it looks like it may be more serious than that. I had my homeboy carry my car to the dealership to get new bulbs and one of the guys in parts told him that the bulb may not be the problem. I'm not exactly sure what he said the problem was b/c my homie isnt the best in relaying messages when it comes to mechanical issues, but he said it would be about $700 to fix. My headlight initially gave off a pinkish color, then went to a high blue. Finally it flickered and went out completely. When cut the car off for a while and try it again, it'll work fine for a minute, then it blinks out again. Can someone please tell me what this may be and if it's covered in my warranty. I only have 85,000 miles and I'm good until 100K.

it sounds like its just the bulb because its turning pink i would just try and change the bulb first and if it still goes out try changing the ballast the bulbs would set you back about 90 shipped on ebay, and the ballast about 200 shipped its a diy. it takes only a couple of hours the most time consuming would be the removal of the front bumber. hope that helps

Nope, not only yours. I would put up a stickie about headlight leaks that leads to blown ballasts. Had a leak and same problem. Make sure you seal up your next ballast.
