yeouch, hopefully you can get away without a new tire at least.

Honestly, I wouldn't even risk it and just take it to a shop. Do you have stockies lying around?

Id send that baby out for repairs. Its really not all that expensive. Youre going to have a tough time trying to reshape a lip with a rubber mallet without breaking it..

good luck

I recently had a bent rim repaired by a mobile service. The lip was OK but the rim was out of round. He was able to get it back to near perfect but I can still detect a shimmy at 50 mph.

He said that rims with road rash need to be sent out to be fixed. It will likely cost you a couple hundred but it will look brand new. Just hope there's no vibration afterward.

i just bought a new rim, filled ur tires to 35psi cold, it will firm up your ride and decrease your chances for this happening, its always a plus to have your eyelids open while your driving, so you can avoid that kiddie pool you ran over or pothole as you call it, but if it was indeed a pot hole why did you run it over in the 1st place? Bought my rims used so it was bent before I got it, a rubber mallet didn't work, now I have a full sized matching spare is how I look at it

You may look into Florida's transportation cabinet. I know here in KY you can file a claim and if you're lucky the state will pay for it. I had this happen and the state screwed me (I think the economic times made it unwanted to pay out), but I know many locals who have had the state buy them a new rim.

I hit a pothole (or should I say mini grand canyon that spread almost 1 lane wide) in my civic and bent my SSR rim (the graphite with polished lip is no longer available) and cracked my sideskirt. State ran me through the woods and eventually I didn't have the time to keep playing their games.

It's funny about the florida transportation thing, cause I went down the same road the other night and stopped and guess what, 'mini grand canyon' was filled with fresh concrete and asphalt

i had some '99 eclipse GSX rims on my 99 galant, one really bad winter in '04 on watterson express way in louisville, i bent the shit out of two rims, the worst bend i've ever seen, and you are damn right i was losing tire pressure. i had to take them off and use my stocks as spares, long story short, i took a picture of the potholes (and same as in your case ftlautl) the state had already filled the potholes up, i still filed a claim, since they were considered stock wheels for the eclipse gsx, i went to the mitsu dealership and they quoted me $400 a wheel, sent in the estimate and not 3-4 months later i recieved a check from KY for $800

so keep pursuing the FL trans thing, worst they can say is no, as far as fixing up your old ones....

that guy is in cincinnatti, he prefers you UPS them in, he does a great job, and he gave me a good military discount but normal rates are $100-120 depending on how bad it is, your bend doesn't look all that bad. hope i was of some help.

lol this happened to me and I was sooooo pissed. Because my rims you could not find it at all and I knew that, so when I bent my rim, i was flaming mad. It was a night on a turn so there was no way I would've seen it. But I tried with the city and no lucky, everybody gave me the run around like i'm crazy.

been there. This winter I hit a pot hole in my wife's accord and severely bent the rim (it held air but the rim looked bad). took it to a repair shop and they warned me that it might crack if they try and fix it since the bend was very close to a spoke. Sure enough they tried and it cracked. Unfortunately these were superleggeras (discontinued) so I had to buy her an ultraleggera (fortunately only subtle difference). Once I free up some cash I might replace the other three.
