Lost all top end power after EGR

Been a while since I have been here but I thought I should ask the specialists.

02 Type S, have been having issues with Misfires and P1399 which was a pending fault. I took off the top of the intake manifold and cleaned those ports with brake cleaner. Double checked the gasket to make sure it was installed correctly and the ports are not blocked. Now the car seems to be working harder to pull air into the engine as its louder or more prominent. Throttle response down low seems to have improved but now all the top end is gone and the car fights to make power. Seems like something is being choked out? Pedal also seems to be a bit stiffer but I am not sure if imagining things. Any help as always is appreciated.

Did you put the gasket on upside down?? Looks like it fits but doesn't. Also did you take the manifold off or clean it with it on the engine?

Any chance you fubar'd any part of the MIRC while you had the intake apart?

It was on the car, didn't really do much to clean it, just the top portion of that cover and sprayed a little bit of brake cleaner in the ports. The gasket is 100% on correct.

Are you sure? It fits on both ways but only one way is correct.

FYI I have no idea if this is the issue at all but Eric the Car Guy had the same issue with a 3rd gen TL (no top end power) and it was a clogged catalytic converter.

Disassemble the air filter box and look for any foreign objects, I once left a few rags near the intake tubing and ended up at the filter restricting air flow.
Also verify the IMRC system is working (Type S)

Have an aftermarket air intake and the car seems to rev fine....

This thread should really say, " Lost all power all together car barely even wants to get out of its own way." Versus what it really says.

Did you ever fix this issue ? If not check all 6 ignition coils by removing them and looking for oil in the spark plug well or any liquid in there if found needs to be cleaned and repaired.
