Loss of drive from start for few seconds in very cold weather

Today was very cold 10 deg F here. I started my 02 Acura TL parked full day in parking lot and drove for few feet as normal and stopped at a stop sign. When I pressed accelerator, nothing happened as if car has no movement. Panicked and put it in reverse and put back in drive

The car drove fine as normal.

Started wiper- Found dead in all speeds including washer function

Drove for 15 minutes, car warmed up and wipers came back on as normal

Are these uncommon issue and severe weather related?

My car acts a bit funny in the cold weather too. It's important to remember that they're getting pretty old now haha.
I idle mine up for a few minutes to get it operable (I'll be honest it's primarily so my seat heaters warm up) in the current weather and it helps a lot, especially with the odd shifting.

Could just be stuck because of ice build up in the washer lines and maybe the wipers had a layer of ice on the windshield holding them down. That’s my only guess as to why they would work intermittently. With electronics they either work or they don’t.

I experience the exact same thing regarding the shifting and similar issues with the wipers. My wipers just seem very delayed when I first try to turn them on when cold. Never had an issue with the wiper fluid I don't think. Like Arkady said, our cars are just getting old. I'd say yes these issues and severe cold weather are related as this never happens in the summer for me.
