J2K Tansmission adapter?

Ive been doing alot of thinking lately about creating an adapter plate for the J-series engines to a K-series transmission. . .

what do you guys think? Im going to be contacting some people in teh Industry today about it and getting an idea if anyone would be interested in fabricating such a kit, I dont see why not they do it for B/D/H/F motors all the time

How much is a k trans? How much are the adapter plates for the other engines? Plug and play? Reuse same trans mounts? Same axles?

And give pll a few hrs to respond, especially in the morning

uhhh... the k series is a 4 cylinder series and they don't put out quite as much torque as our j series so they proably would not last either if not crap out sooner
and also the B/D/H/F are all 4 cylinders too and the k series does put out more power/torque then them so the trannys would be fine

also maybe you should give people some time to respond, most people i would say don't check this board first thing in the mourning, only reason i am on here this early today is i got off today cause we got quite a bite snow (at least for our area)

also are you talking about doing the conversion with a manual or auto, cause the j series manual's don't have really any issues with them, except 3rd gear occasionl popping out, just a pain in the ass to find used, but also you would have to change axles and they might have to be custom

this is to make your auto 2g TL a manual, since the 2g TL's are know for having bad auto trans

We have manual options.

Also you have to take into account of gear ratio. odds are they wont be optimal for our motor and car.

you have absolutely no aftermarket support whatsoever

with a K-series transmission you can build it for you application, gear ratio's, helical/strait cut gears, final drives, differentials, 5spd/6spd choices. . .

our trans (6spd) hold up to 460whp, its been proven. im gonna go all out on the original trans and see what happens. they swap along will cost of upwards of 5k easy. and how many of us are pushing over 400whp? no one, 350whp? a couple, 300whp hand full. all with no problems.

And how many are going to be willing to spend many thousand above and beyond the trans swap price to have the gearing and diff changed when they can buy a 6 speed with a great lsd in it and perfectly matched gearing for less that requires less to work properly?

Im sorry, I just realized im a fucktard and it would never work because of the starters being in wrong places.

I didnt know there were other comparable manual transmissions for the j-series other than the CL-S6mt.

next time I should do a bit more research before attempting to become a savior. . . I will creep back into the shadows for now

now if you want develop a turbo kit (especially the exhaust side of things) thats a WHOLE different story, the biggest need is the plumbing of things
then someone might be able to break our 6 speed trans
