Question Is it an issue with my parking brake?

Hi there,

When I stopped and applied the parking brake, I still feel my car is still moving a little bit. What's wrong with that? Is it an issue with parking brake? Is it time to replace it? The mileage is now very close to 70,000.

Thanks

Sounds like you just need to tighten the line that runs to your brakes. Any brake shop can do that, for cheap...

try applying and releasing it abunch of times to see if ithelps. it may need to be applied a few times to adjust it. make sure its all teh way to the floor too.

if that doesnt work the cable probably needs a littel adjusting

I've been having a problem with mine too. It won't lock when I step on it...I have to do it 2 or 3 times before it locks in place...is that a dealer only fix?

I had exactly the same problem with mine when the car was six months old. It took a few times trying to latch the foot pedal. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the whole assembly under warranty. Not a problem since.
