Inspection Sticker.
Inspection Sticker.
I had recently bought a 2002 Acura TL Type S 3.2 VTECH. When i got it inspected it failed for emissions and so the dealer said they would fix it, Fine. So they had it for two weeks and come to find out all they they did was drained the fluids and replaced them. I drive the car for 250 miles no check light then got it inspected it passes.Today I hit 400 miles and the light comes on. Can i go get another inspection done to get the second rejection and to see if the same codes come up again?

Wouldn't it be easier to go to Autozone and have them pull the codes for you and go back to the dealer you purchased the car from? Guessing you have some sort of 30 - 90 warranty from the dealer?
Not sure if you car can get reinspected so quickly. I know the results of the MA inspection are entered into a database, but don't know if having it reinspected would cause any sort of issues. Not to mention, it's going to cost you another $29.........

parts stores pull codes for free
report back here with the exact code = letter and number combo
you may need the egr system cleaned,,very common and will cause smog probs..
dealer wont even think about it unless the old guy works on the car
oh yeah!! the gen2s had a big prob with that--every 75kmiles got to remove intake manifold and clean the passage and ports of crud
what were the recorded emission levels hc and co2

So let me see if I got you straight. You purchased the car, had to have it inspected. It failed. You brought it to the dealer, the place you bought it? They supposedly fixed it. 250 miles goes by and you have it inspected and it passes. Now at 400 miles your cell is back on and you are asking if you can go have another inspection to know what the codes are? Why don't you just bring it back to the dealer that fixed the car and say the light is back on and have them fix it (you not paying for it o course). Or like others have said have a parts store read the codes for free, then you will know the issue (of course unless you know what the last code was you won't know if its the same issue)
