Idle air control valve

My check engine light came on along with the VSA and !, went to a mechanic code the code read and it's the idle control valve. The oem part was going to cost $240 plus labor. So I decided to try and fix it. Bought the valve and gaskets from napa auto parts. Is there anything I need to be cautious of? Or is it pretty straight forward to fix? Need some advice or feedback please.

remove screws remove, reverse for install. You can do it without taking the intake mani or tb off. Personally id take the intake mani off (leaving the TB attached) and clean out the EGR ports and clean the TB.

thanks for the advise. everything was pretty simple. except for the gasket being stuck to the manifold. it took me about 4 hours to remove it with goo gone and gasket remover and a razor blade.

is there any other way to have done any faster?

There are better and much more effective products than "GooGone" for gasket removal. Just check with your local auto parts store next time.
