IAC valve part#?

I'm trying to help my brother out he has an 02 TL type-S as well, he was telling me that his RPMs isn't stable at a stop. He told me it jumps from 800 rpms-1.2k rpms and just keeps doing that the whole time while its stopped. So I told him it was his IAC valve since, I had the same issue with my old honda before. The mechanic ran an OBD scan and told him the same thing. Gave him some $500+ estimate. I looked up the parts list but couldn't figure out which one it was, so I got a diagram picture of the TB. Can anyone confirm that it is the part listed in this picture? I'm assuming its the #2 part listed.

try cleaning it first

remove the TB from the intake manifold- underneath is 2 screws holding the iac cover (based on my 01)

Have you done any type of intake manifold cleaning?
The EGR ports also get plugged about 75k miles--not the egr valve, just the ports so its another clean it to fix project

cool thanks guys, knowing my brother he has not done anything for his car. he's been driving with huge hairline crack in his windshield for the past 8 months. But I'll try that if he ever drops by again.

if you want to do it right just pull the intake manifold and clean the egr ports and intake runners per DIY,,that puts the entire TB assembly in your hands to clean the iacv
