How to replace the tail light bulb

Hi guys. So I have a 2003 Acura TL Type-S and one of my brake lights is out. I just need to replace the bulb not the entire housing itself. So it would be helpful if I could get instructions on how to remove the rear bumper and maybe open the housing to replace the bulb. Thanks.

please register with www.owners.acura.com need cars VIN
free download of owner book for your year- has this job in it

also look in our diy section https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/new-official-2nd-gen-tl-diy-thread-706083/

ours are changed from inside the trunk

replace bulbs in pairs (ours are sold that way),,and brake lights= do all 4-
they get the same use!

pop the trunk unscrew the black round thing that are used to hold the cargo net, you have have to remove the plastic in the center, just pull it up clips pop right out, pull back the carpet and you have access to the lights

No need to remove the bumper. The brake-light bulbs can be easily changed from inside the trunk.

those are 1/4 turn screws on the plastic bit on bottem edge as you open trunk,
then lift the piece out

the carpeted corners right in front of the bulbs are cardboard,,pull it forward and down to gain access to bulbs
dont try to remove anything--just get enough room for your hand

the bulbs are in with 1/4 turn too

as said above- the big round nut that holds the cargo net to sides of trunk,,those get removed so piece can be moved
