How Many Mounts are there for the Engine? and how many Transmission? 2001 Acura TL
Hi There,
Recently i took my 2001 Acura TL 3.2 to a Transmission Specialist to get a price quote on replacing the External Transmission Fluid Filter, So in his inspection he noticed then when shifting he noticed the engine kinda moves a little and that i need to replace the Engine Mounts and the Transmission Mounts, He Told me the engine has the 3 and the transmission has 3 is that correct?
He Quoted me $300 for the labor to get it done which i think is a good deal.
Is there any brand or company that makes just the good old Original OEM ones in a Complete kit?
I never noticed the engine moving while shifting because the shifting is done while the Hood is Closed, wow kind of an eye opener has me concerned.

you can try one of the kits on rockauto.
The two kits I see only have a 12 month warranty (which is what oem part are warrantied for); I'd always try to go with an items that has lifetime warranty, as having to pay for a replacement is certainly a pain.

There are 5 in total. 3eng/2 trans. The fwd eng mount is the one that goes bad first. it is a dampened mount. Ever notice any leaks/drips? Likely the source. Just replaced all 5 of mine with the BAYA trans swap. STILL reconnecting things, but on the road to recovery soon. $300 for all 5 mounts on labor isn't unrealistic.

The front and rear engine mounts are liquid filled and they are sealed. Each takes a vacuum line input. Don't know who makes them for Acura. The OEMs tend to be a lot smoother and transfer less vibration than the after market stuff. Some have tried the cheap ones and had no problems others tried and changed them out. A cheaper one is better than a broken one. I would go OEM if you can afford to do so.
