Last week while driving my 01 TL I noticed the hood of my car sticking up on the driver’s side by the windshield. When I got out of the car to look at it more closely I noticed the whole hood was misaligned, the hood is now shifting more towards the passenger side (there is no gap on the passenger side and larger than normal gap on the driver side where the hood meets the rest of the car.) And the only way I can describe the "lift" is it looks like somebody physically put their hands under the corner of the hood by the windshield on the driver’s side and bent/pulled it up. I've asked a couple people and they have no idea how this could happen. I took it for an estimate and they said they aren't sure what's wrong and estimated it would be between $50 - $300. I figured it was just some weird thing that happened . . . it was very windy the day I noticed it.
But over the weekend I noticed my hood is like that too, on the same side.
I don't see any other damages.
Does anyone have any ideas? Fixes?

 

are you the original owner.....if not run a car fax and see if its been a accident

 

I'm not the original owner, I bought the car about a year ago. Before doing so I ran a carfax, the report was clean. When I bought the car the hood had minor 'dings' near where the 'A' is, nothing major. When I fisrt noticed the 'lifting' I thought some part of the hood may have worn/warped over time because I know it wasn't like that before. But now seeing the trunk is the same way, I am very confused. I park in a big lot all day, it is possible someone could have hit it, but don't you think there would be some kind of other mark? Only one corner on both the hood and trunk are lifted up. I don't understand how that could happen unless someone did it by hand. But that doesn't explain the misalignment.

This just happened to the hood. When I'm driving I can see that corner of the hood in my windshield and I know it was not like that before. I'm not sure about the trunk, but I'm pretty sure that's new too. I'm going to take it for another estimate on Wednesday. I just can't imagine how it happened.
