Exclamation HIDextra kit install help

Yeah so basically how the heck do you install the kit? It's as confusing as can be and I'm so frustrated. It's telling me to put the two electrodes into the power socket of the car and there's no way they fit at all. I thought this was just going to be plug and go but I guess not. Any help guys? Thanks.

I can see that there are positive and negative wires coming from the OEM connector on the car. Am I going to have to splice them to make the electrodes fit?

I would call HID extra first before you do anything. I forget if splicing is necessary.

Check with a multimeter before you do anything as the polarity is sometimes reversed from driver and passenger.

Watch some videos on youtube for help.

this job could not be easier!!!!

see the 2 power leads to low beam at housing?
cut both at connector
install a matching spade (take ballast to parts store and match connections)
to match the ones that are installed on kits wire from ballast
or simply splice together solidly
DONE!

the ballast fits nicely along the outside of frame rail- secure with `zip tie train`
slip excess connector wires from ballast to bulb under the housing as you slide it back in place

make sure that external bulb wire faces same way as old one--down iirc
and beware the bulb- no bare skin contact

note new bulbs need min 50 hours use to burn in to full color and brightness
drive with lights on all the time to get them to awesome

I just got my "kit" in the mail today. This process sounds a bit daunting.
I wonder how much a shop would charge to do it? lol...

So...thanks for the reply. I got everything off including the broken headlight bulb. Success! But no so fast...

Hopefully that works, but it should be a photo of the "bulb holder" that was in the car comparing it to the one that's in the kit. I don't know if the photo shows but they aren't the same size. The one with the kit doesn't fit directly in the socket where the old one went.

I actually see where I'll need to splice the wires together so that part is okay. Now it's just a matter of putting everything back together. Either I'm missing something easy or...maybe it's not the right part. Thanks for the assistance.

the new one fits the new bulbs- dont worry its better parts than stock!

I moved it around until it sat right with no strain on wires
getting the 2 wires thru the bottem hole in housing was the tricky part
dremel or file makes hole larger!
secure the ballast to frame rail with zip ties linked together
slip excess wire under light housing as you slide housing into place
zip tie whatever needs doing

This is my struggle. The red part should fit in that hole securely correct? I don't remember how the clip was secured in there either. It came fully out when i was taking it apart.

And... I'm an idiot. I was trying it without the bulb. The bulb is actually what connects in there not the red piece!

So I purchased an hid extra kit pulled everything apart and then realized I received no instructions with my kit. Im confused about what goes where it seems the connections that fit together would require the bypassing of the ignitor in the black circular light cover. This seems impossible since the kit only has a ballast and bulb with bulb holder. Then the red and black wires with the flat connections are the power connections where are they made and where would I need to splice? Thanks I spent a lot of time trying to look it up with only clarifying bits and pieces

read post number 4 above,
the parts for each side click together to join wire to ballast
the ignitor is inside the system, no longer seperate!
remove and toss the old parts, ballast and ignitor, or work around them

get a small pack of #14-16 female waterproof connectors 2.50$
to match the males on the new ballast
cut the wires behind connector to old bulb
splice new ballast in there
mount ballast wherever easy

make sure new bulbs go in with external wire pointing DOWN same as stock came out
wear rbber/latex gloves handling bulbs!!!!

use new lights all the time to get 50 hours on them
makes full brightness and color then
