HID Light Question. HELP!

I bought a new set of HID 6k for my acura Tl 02 S and I feel like my lights are not aiming correctly plus im having a hard time putting the bulbs in becuse of the small pice of metal that holds the bulb in place (what a pain). Somebody told me that the HID bulb must be inserted with the plastic facing down (you know the hid bulb has like a plastic stick on it that runs side by side with the bulb) is this correct? I figures this was going to be easy but is .......... any help will be appriciated.

Thanks

that external electrode (its not just plastic but ceramic cover over important part)
it has to go in the same way the old bulb came out iirc thats down

the retainer arm goes in and you push to one side of lock -then it pops up into locked position
to remove is push in down and over

with a small mirror you can get a better idea of how to attack it- with needle nose pliers

did you get the metal bit over the new bulb same as it was stock? (not all years have)
the screw for the retainer arm is also the shroud holder

whats your aim prob? too high or low?
cant do it till the bulbs are fully seated in position and locked in
Is the car lowered?
ck the DIY threads for details basically: look at rear of housing- see a raised V channel of plastic? follow that down to the exposed plastic gear teeth- thats the adjuster
Slide a small + screwdriver at an angle-down the groove till it touches the gear teeth- observe the arrows for up-down on top of housing and rotate screwdriver as directed
It will act as a top gear and move the mechanism

Another thing i forgot to mention is that the passanger bulb is not as bright as the driver side (very low light) i checked all the plugs and all is good. Ill switch the bulb to see what happens... again thanks

the new bulbs need 50+ hours of ON time to get the color and brightness stable
they will get brighter and better with a little age

What bulbs are you using, D2R ?
Any other replacement will cause light output to go all over the place.
I think D2R is the best replacement
D2C are replacement bulbs for regular HID
D2S are replacement bulbs for projectors
As far as I remember.
