Hi dudes been awhile. Have a problem & you guys always have the answers. Today while driving my VSA light came, tried pushing my vsa button & it stayed on. Turned off engine on & off 3 times. Plus my Engine light is on, also maintnance required light, (Its been on for a while), just this light, all others are new. Next i disconnected the ground on the battery to reset the ECU, Shit still commin on. Anyone know what the hell is happen here. I notice no change in performance. I even disengaged my unichip, with no good results. HELP, MUST STAY AWAY FROM THE STEALER!!! thanks in advance guys.

did a search, by my research its either an egr? valve or a nother fuc*in Tranny going out. But getting conflicting info, anyone know for sure? Fssty where are you when your needed?

 

How about getting the car in somewhere to get the code read. Those lights could be any # of things. Go somplace that does free code reading like auto zone get us the code, then we can help more accuratly

 

Called the stealer today, They said more than likley, its the egr valve, mabe tranny, but not
likley. Free loner, next monday, egr valve warranteed to 80 grand. I told them if this was going to cost 1-cent call B4 performing any work, so i guess i'm covered. If they try to give me a line of bullshit, i'll yank her out of there & take it to autozone & get the code. In that case I'll get back to ya. Don't think the dealer will screw me after buying 2 tl's & a legend & having a Tranny replaced, but ya never know AKA (STEALER) Thanks Chris Later

 

WTF, Get to the Stealer, & they say it will be a mininum of $99.00, just to look @ it. They told me there was a service bulletin for the erg port, but it was only for the '99tl. Asked for a cortesy for my 3rd Disc Turn & pads, they said Nada, Acura won't cover it because i'm past warranty. Also had a piece of rubber door molding come loose & i can't get it reinstalled. They told me that would be $63.00 + Labor. I was so pissed I could have spit bullets. The Wife & I have spent nearly 80 grand on 3 different rides & they can't do a courtesy. Will definatley be looking else where when it comes to our next purchase. The only thing that is warrantied on my car after 50 g's if the fuckin tranny! Acura Really wants to make an impression to their customers. Should have got the code like kris suggested., but i thought i was covered. Bastards. Sorry guys had to Rant.

 

Bummer. Yea usually coded dont get read for free, unless the problem turns out to be a warranty issue. Did you let them know of your displeasure at all?

 

kris do you think this could be the start of another tranny taking a crap. My d5 light is not flashing & the car has no changes in performance or anything else? You've had 3 of 4 trannys go, ever have one go out without the d5 flashing? Or did your vsa or tsc light come on & stay on, along with the engine light prior to trannys taking a dump?

 

ya he definatley new i was pissed. I even told him that acura replaced my wifes leather on her seat, 1-1/2 yrs past warranty. Why has acura changed their policy, especially after being a repeat customer. Dude said it was all up to Acura & they will not Warranty any of the things i asked about. The G35 is looking better all the time!! You watch they will try to blame it on my unichip?!

 

The ligths can mean any number of things, and all we will be doinf is guessing. It could be any thing. The TCS light is designed to come on with many things when the CEL comes on and DOESNT mean its the tranny.
(and yes when my tranny died, those lights came on, just like they did with clogged egr ports, and tranny temp sensor)

 

Get the code read somewhere and we can help you. Untill we do all we are doing is guessing

 

But did you ever have those lights come on without the d5 B4 tranny blew up?

PS, Could you go to page two & look @ egr valve cleaning & tell me what you think. If it is my egr valve, I think they are saying it should be warrantied to 150k per the epa?

 

Like i said. Those ligts are programed to come on together, and do not mean its the tranny. Before you do ANY more jumping to conclusions as to what it is or how to get it fixed under warranty, If you are not willing to take it to the dealer go to a autozone for a free diagnostics to get teh code. We can Properly tell you how to fix it then.

And if it is egr related and the ports are clogged, that wouldnt be covered. Only the egr valve itself (which i dont think the 2000 plus have) would be covered. There are plenty of threads on port cleaning and if you want to save some money and have a few hrs to spare its very easy to do (if thats the problem)

MY Personal Recomendation is to go to a parts store for a FREE code reading

 

Thanks kris, the cars already @ the dealer. After them knowing my displeasure lastnight., they must have talked over the situation. They called this a.m. & told me it was the O2 sensor. that part is covered to 70k, my car sits @ 67k. Just under the wire. They told me there would be no charge & they would have to ups red it in, (no charge), as they did not have it in stock. This is really strange to me, as the guy did a printout of warranties past 50k on my 2003tls & stated only the tranny was covered. I was prepared today with a printout of what the epa said the dealer must warranty so far as the emission system was concerned. Thought for sure they were going to try blaming it on my unichip, but was not mentioned. hope after they install the o2 sensor the lights go off? if anyone has an emission issue make sure you look @ the link i put in another thread last night. Think i put in the egr valve thread.
