Help!!!!!!!!

Ok everyone here seems to have the problem with vibrating when braking which as everyone knows is the rotors. Today I had my front rotors and pads replaced and it costs me a lot. I was told my rear rotors was fine. Well my car is better but it still viberates horriblely but it is better. So I think I spent all that money for nothing. So my question is what else can cause viberates while braking. Im so shacken up i can barely type this so sorry if its messed up but im just so upset so any ideas?

Also I got the car done at midas and they said bring it back tomorrow and we will fix it for you.

vibrating while braking = rotors.. u might just need new rotors..

vibrating at high speeds = need wheel balancing.

Right and I totally understand it but I was told the rears are in good shape so my question is there ANYTHING other than rotors that can cause it. Replacing the front helped but its still really bad im just hoping they did something wrong I dont want to replace the back too.

Did they take them off and turn them? Just looking at them wont tell you if they are warped. Braking is really the only thing that causes it. Especially if it only happens while braking. And it is possible that the new ones are defective as well. Did you go out and beat onthem right away to see if its gone?

A lot of the vibration i had with my car went away when i changed the tires. That may be a reason. One tire was worn A LOT more than the other. I don't know if that may cause it, but for me, a lot fo the vibration under braking was gone. Just my experience.

No I didnt beat them I didnt have to the viberates where coming from low braking and I was told new brakes needed to be broken in anyway. I mean the car is very smooth while driving but the second you hit those brakes its like agh. Im really just hoping its my back rotors too (although I would rather have faulty front ones and get news for free.) We will see tomorrow im just really not happy about this but we will see.

that had nothing to do with it. the tires wear at an adaptive rate. when you go the new tires, they were rebalanced which is what solved your problem.

Yeah thats most likely not it since my tires are fine. Its just I feel so robbed right now because everyone always said it was my rotors and now I got the front ones done for not cheap and its still there. Is it true back brakes are cheaper?

Here is my suggestion. Bring it back to the place that did it and tell them that you are still experiencing shaking while braking even after their brake job. Have them look at every thing again

yea, generally they are, but then again, the brake assembly is made of multiple parts, each being a different price.

do what fsttyms1 said, they should honor your requests, especially since they didn't fix your initial problem.

OK so you went to MIDAS MUFFLERS and expected them to do a perfect job on your BRAKES

I had a friend once who went there with a brake failure dash light on, and pedal sinks to floor. They wrote an estimate for all new rotors and pads, not a word said about why pedal would go to the floor or red light on dash

I sent her to a friend at Big O- ---only because I knew the direct person at a family operated store----, and he said new front pads and replace that leaking master cylinder NOW, all for a 1/5 of what Midas had wanted, and it fixed the problem too!!!!!

I was a service writer at one time, and if you went in complaining of shakes under braking and they did not fix the problem, there are responsibilities on their part and legal issues on your side.

Take it back and say it still shakes and scares me to drive.

Just because parts are new does not mean the are functional

Yes the rear brakes are cheaper to do, the rotors are solid not center vented and its just 4 bolts and 2 pesky screws thay MAY need to be drilled out if impact screwdriver does not loosen them. Shoot some penetrating lube on the bolts the night before and have a big breaker bar or compressor, the bolts should be tight, they hold your brakes on!!!!!!!!!

There can be difficulty removing rotor due to parking brake system inside the rotor center hub, no biggie if you know why it is hung up

Look in the paper phone book in the yellow pages for auto repair, then see if there is an independent shop specializing in Acuras or it list them in the cars thee normally work on.

I did mine in the driveway, rotors from NAPA Auto Parts $35 for 2 (get the american made ones) and Hawk HPS awesome brake pads $58 Pepboys
HPS = High Performance Street, good for regular and aggressive driving and wifes emergency panic stops. Reduce braking distance by 30 feet!

HEY 07 TLS
"I Torque'd all wheel lugnut's to factory spec's and it stopped, they were loose"

Never trust those lugnuts at the tire shop to use the CORRECT procedure for tightening the wheel lugs, they just blast them on with a torque stick that is supposed to limit it or???

I work with race cars and we have a very specific way to make sure the rim is seated against the hub, rotate the tire assembly to ensure everything is ok etc.

Everyone should get out and check the lug nuts, especially if you drive hard, thats a lot of lateral loading and can cause problems. While you are in there, take out the rotor screws and coat them with anti sieze, put them back in, when you need to do a brake job you will be glad.

Thanks again for all your advice I was really shocken up and I just hope all goes well tomorrow. I was just wondering if it could be anything other than rotors so I guess i find out tomorrow.

And like stated above Always Retorque your wheels. Get a torque wrench and do it yourself. Brakes will last longer

Update: Well I took it back and it turns out my rear brakes where shot too and they replaced them and where very honest about it they told me that I could by the same rotors down the road at another store of half the price but the same ones and they would install them so thats what I did and they worked great.

As for yesterday sorry if i seemed rude or upset I was just freakin out because I paided for the brakes and they still didnt work. Thanks everyone for the help and advice you all give and helping me I really appericate and it did clam me down. As someone here said before I forget who but I wish everyone who helped trouble free trannys (exepct fsttms probably doenst need it since we know hes got a good one) and a merry christmas.

Im in a great mood now because the brakes work and while I was out i went to hendrick acura (the best dealer in the world they where SO nice to me and remembered me from last time) and found out that the seat heaters are 700 to fix but are covered under my extanded warranty.
