Help ~ Car sounds like its going to die...
So today I'm driving my TL and stop at a red light only to hear my engine sound like it's going to die. It makes a high rev then low rev sound cycling back and forth the whole time I'm stopped. The RPM stays at 900, and the noise goes away once I give it a little gas while my foot is on the brake. I'm at 166,000 miles and the only recent maintenance I've done in the recent week is change the spark plugs (OEM), use a can of seafoam in about a quarter filled tank (now almost near "E"), cabin filter, and air filter.
I've tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything. Anyone experience this? Thanks!

you OD'd on the seafoam -- its one can to half tank for cleaning doseage
wont really hurt but not getting your moneys worth of time in the tank
throw a few gallons in to balance it out
sounds like dirty IACV idle air control valve- its really a rod with an air slot- gets clogged up with carbon- happens to the best of us
Have you cleaned the egr port system yet? needed every 75kmiles
easy to do the iacv at the same time-its on the bottem of TB assembly

Any other possibilities out there I can check out?
Now I plan on getting a new TB to manifold gasket, and an IACV cover gasket just in case those happen to break. Do you think I should get any other gaskets (like the intake manifold) or new screws?
Thanks!
everything else should be fine--be gentle with the metal gaskets- no bending!
same bolts are fine for manifold- we are talking 16 foot pound spec- not 250,,where I would replace bolts based on potential stretch in use
careful with the first gasket under topmost cover, note which way is UP/Top on it when removed- can be installed flipped/upside down and cause you to remove all the parts and put it right~
