Unhappy Heater problem

Hi. I have to maintain my wife's 03 TL. The heater works off and on. Sometimes only cold is blowing. Then if I go over a big bump the heat starts working. Then at any time the cold air can start, no matter what the thermostat is at.

I took it to Acura and they worked on it for an hour and could not figure it out. They said it may take them 4hours to figure it out at $100/hr.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. [P.S. I am not a handy guy].

Search around on here for some things to check. For instance: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...6#post10221386

I have this same issue.
1999 TL, heat worked yesterday, today---no heat. Just cold air.
A/C compressor kicks in if "AUTO" is selected but no heat regardless
of the temp displayed on the digital readout. Engine does get to normal
operating temp.

I am going to continue searching here but ideas are appreciated.

Well, I found the problem.
The heat exchange valve cable, or what ever the Acura designation is for the
cable controlling coolant through the heater core.

I will lube the cable and see how long it lasts.
