Headlight delayed shut off not working
Hi All. Love this forum, read it often, but my first post.
The delayed headlight shut off is not working on my 2008 TL. I have set the headlights to shut off 90 seconds after the doors are locked (or ignition is shut off, whatever the default trigger is). But the lights go off immediately and do not stay on for the 90 second interval. I have tried various settings but not go. I spoke to my Acura dealer (North Toronto Acura) who first tried to convince me that my model did not have this function (dumb) and after I showed them the owners manual where it shows that my model does have this function, they tried to convince me that the function only works when the lights are set to "on" not "auto" (dumber). I tried it in the "on" mode anyway, but didn't work either. So no help from the supposed experts at my dealer. Does anyone have any info on this issue... is there another setting I am missing or should I command the knobs at the dealer to replace the headlight module (or handsfree link module, whatever controls the delay light function)?

welcome,,this is the wrong generation for you--99-03 here
repost in right gen and look in the problems and fixes section for others solving this issue
on the gen2, switch must be in ON position for delay to work
read owner book again and follow it exactly
If that doesnt fix it call acura care 1 800 382 2238x5
ask if they have any reports of this, or any secret special warranty, or tech notices for your VIN
do an online search for same prob,,outside acurazine -if help not found
good luck and welcome to azine
