Here's a link with some installation tips that I posted:

https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/two-my-favorite-tv-shows-now-158008/

If you search the forum, there are other posts with more detail.

You'll want D2R bulbs. 4300K is recommended for putting the maximum amount of light on the road.

Does the $95 cost per headlight include the bulb or is that just the labor?

(The bulbs are typically very expensive through a dealer.)

The dealers charge up to $135 per bulb!!! just for the bulb!!!!!
They are xenon so that makes them expensive- imported from Pluto or somewhere

For replacement Phillips 4300- see ebay- make sure NEW- not used but good- those are dicey
or see vendor Excelerate- he has the badazzz Kaixen brand bulbs- 6000 with color near OE and better output

you really do get what you pay for in lights and brakes~

OK, so you can save a lot of money by doing this yourself. As 01tl4tl mentioned, you can sometimes find great deals on eBay. I bought a pair of brand new Philips D2R bulbs for $68.49 shipped. That's less than $35 a bulb and it will give you a sense of the outrageous markup at the dealerships.

If you have a few basic tools you can change the bulbs yourself- thats carzy to pay an hour labor to the dealer
And you should replace bulbs in pairs so the light output is even- they change with time

Side note- it takes about 100 hours of use for the color to change and stabilize on new bulbs

u need a security torx bit (with the hole in it, t20) and a 10mm

it takes all of 5 mins to change both bulbs. remove the locking screw, unplug the ballast plug, twist the cap, remove bulb. u need the 10mm for the passenger side to take out 1 bolt so u can move hte washer fluid tank neck out of the way

and btw i just bought some 12k bulbs off ebay for about $35
